All customers are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund under the ACL consumer guarantees. These rights are automatic and cannot be excluded by a supplier.
Replacement or Refund Protocols
Under the ACL, you may request a replacement or refund for major failures. However, standard consumer guarantees do not apply to "change of mind" or incorrect part selection (unless covered by our separate 30-Day Guarantee).
Major Problem Criteria
- Component is unsafe for operation.
- Significantly different from description or sample.
- Does not perform the function intended or requested.
- Problem would have prevented purchase if known.
Timing & Depreciation
Claims are assessed based on the elapsed time since purchase, the type of machinery component, and the reasonable expected operational lifespan under standard industrial use.
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method only.
Returning Technical Components
- Postage Costs: Customers are responsible for the initial cost of returning items. If the component is verified as faulty, Spare Part Mart will reimburse reasonable transportation costs. Retain all receipts.
- Large Items: If a part is too heavy or difficult to return (e.g., heavy machinery assemblies), Spare Part Mart will coordinate collection or cover shipping costs.
- Packaging: Original packaging is not a legal requirement for returns under the ACL.
- False Claims: If a component is inspected and found to be non-defective, the customer may be liable for inspection and freight costs.
Warranty & Consumer Guarantees
Automatic consumer guarantees apply regardless of any manufacturer's warranty. These guarantees exist for a "reasonable time" based on the price and quality of the spare part.
- Voluntary Warranties: Any warranty against defects offered by Spare Part Mart is a voluntary promise that becomes an enforceable right under the ACL.
- Retailer Responsibility: As your retailer, we will not redirect you to a manufacturer for ACL claims. We manage the verification and resolution process directly with our manufacturing partners.
