SPM-HEP-3000 is the hydraulic solenoid valve (screw-in cartridge with green flying lead and plug). It is used on Caterpillar H series motor graders and the D8R dozer. This aftermarket valve has the same ports, mounting and coil connector as the original, so it fits where the old one came off.

Function will not work
If a hydraulic function is dead but the pump and controls work, the solenoid cartridge or its coil is the usual suspect. Check for power at the plug first.
Drift or slow response
A worn cartridge that does not shift fully gives slow or weak movement, or lets the function creep.
Burned coil
A coil that reads open or short on a meter needs replacing; check the connector for water and corrosion first.
Fitting tips
Relieve the hydraulic pressure, clean around the valve before removing it, fit the new O rings lightly oiled and tighten to the specified torque.
