Compressor will not load or unload
The intake valve opens to load the compressor and closes to unload it. A sticking valve leaves the machine running unloaded or stops it unloading, which trips it on high pressure.
Oil blowing back through the air filter
A worn valve plate or check function lets oil mist escape back into the intake when the compressor stops. Replace the valve before it soaks the filter and the cooler.
Slow loading or low capacity
A tired spring, worn seals or a scored piston keep the valve from opening fully, so the compressor delivers less air than it should.
Fitting tips
Isolate, vent and lock out the compressor. Fit a new gasket or O ring at the flange, reconnect the control lines exactly as before and check loading and unloading before putting it back to work.
