Dusty or dirty intake air
A blocked intake filter starves the compressor, raises the discharge temperature and cuts the air it delivers. Change it when the restriction indicator shows red.

Dust that gets past a damaged filter wears the rotors and fouls the oil. A new element costs far less than an airend rebuild.

Switch off and isolate the compressor, wipe out the filter housing, check the seal faces, and fit the new element square so it seals all round.
