Caterpillar 10R-3258 is the electronic unit injector: the grey body with the plunger spring, the white solenoid cap with the terminal pin and the nozzle with its sealing rings. It is used on Caterpillar C13 engines. This aftermarket version is made to the same mounting and connections as the original, so it fits where the old one came off.
The same part is also sold as Caterpillar 250-1309.
Sold as one unit. Check the number on your old part, or in the parts manual for your machine, before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
Will it replace my Caterpillar 10R-3258?
Yes, it is a direct replacement for the Caterpillar 10R-3258 with the same fitting.
How often should I replace the Caterpillar 10R-3258?
Often 5,000 to 10,000 hours, but much less on poor or wet fuel. Injectors are usually changed when they fail a test, not by hours.
What are the signs the fuel injector needs replacing?
Black or white smoke, a misfire or knock on one cylinder, hard starting, higher fuel use, or a high return leak or balance rate on test.
Should I replace all of them at once?
Not always. If the others pass a return leak or balance test, one can be changed. Where they are all high hours, a full set keeps the cylinders even.
What should I do before fitting it?
Clean the bore and seat of carbon, and keep the nozzle capped until it goes in. Torque the clamp to the engine manual, not by feel.
Is this a genuine Caterpillar 10R-3258?
No. It is an aftermarket fuel injector made to replace the Caterpillar 10R-3258. It is not made by the original manufacturer; the number only shows what it replaces.
