Caterpillar 229-9137 is the cab air conditioner and heater blower motor with twin fan wheels on a through shaft. It is used on Caterpillar short tail and C series excavators (308C to 328D LCR). This aftermarket version has the same mounting and electrical connector as the original, so it plugs in and bolts on where the old one came off.

No air from the vents
If the fan control and fuse are fine but no air comes from the cab vents at any speed, the blower motor has stopped.
Noise and vibration
A squeal, rattle or wobble from behind the vents means worn bearings or a damaged fan wheel. Replace the blower before it seizes.
Weak airflow or only some speeds
Worn brushes cut the airflow. If only some speeds work, check the blower resistor as well.
Fitting tips
Disconnect the battery, remove the blower cover or cab panel, unplug and unbolt the old blower, and fit the new one the same way round. Check every fan speed before refitting the trim.
