Applications & use cases
Engine cranks slowly or not at all
With good batteries and clean cables, a slow or dead starter is the usual cause. Check the voltage at the starter while cranking.
Clicks but does not turn
A click with no cranking points at the solenoid contacts or the motor brushes. A new starter fixes both.
Grinding when starting
A worn drive pinion grinds or slips on the flywheel ring gear. Replace the starter before it damages the ring gear.
Fitting tips
Disconnect the batteries first, fit to the same flange and bolts, tighten the main cable and the trigger wire, then reconnect and test.
