Caterpillar 5I-7952 is the turbocharger with a twin entry four bolt exhaust inlet flange, an aluminium compressor housing, a cast iron turbine housing and no wastegate. It is used on Caterpillar 320B and 318C excavators (3066 engine). This aftermarket version is made to the same mounting and connections as the original, so it fits where the old one came off.

What it does
Exhaust gas spins the turbine, which drives the compressor wheel on the same shaft and pushes more air into the engine. More air lets the engine burn more fuel cleanly, giving the rated power.
