SPM-HEP-2570 is a fuel shutoff solenoid for the Caterpillar 216, 226, 236, 906 and similar machines with Perkins 400 series engines. This aftermarket version has the same mounting and electrical connector as the original, so it plugs in and bolts on where the old one came off.
It replaces Caterpillar 172-7209 and Caterpillar 2848A278.

A failed fuel shutoff solenoid holds the fuel off (no start) or will not cut it (no stop). Check power at the plug first.
Engine cuts out
A weak pull-in or hold coil lets the solenoid drop out under vibration and the engine stalls.
