SPM-HEP-4499 is the threaded brass pressure sensor with a three pin sealed plug. It is used on Cummins ISX and ISM engines. This aftermarket version has the same mounting and electrical connector as the original, so it plugs in and bolts on where the old one came off.
It replaces Cummins 4928593 and Cummins 4087987.
Sold as one unit. Check the number on your old part, or in the parts manual for your machine, before ordering.

Applications & use cases
Wrong or missing reading
A failed sensor gives a dead or false gauge reading or a warning light.
Fault codes
Check the wiring and plug first; if the sensor itself reads out of range, replace it.
Corrosion
Connectors on machines take water and dirt. A corroded sensor is cheaper to replace than to chase.
Fleet spares
Common sensors are worth keeping in stock for each machine type.

Frequently asked questions
Will it replace my Cummins 4928593?
Yes, it is a direct replacement for the Cummins 4928593 with the same fitting.
How often should I replace the Cummins 4928593?
There is no fixed interval. It is changed when it fails, and many fail from water in the plug or chafed wiring rather than wear.
What are the signs the sensor needs replacing?
A fault code for this circuit, readings that jump or stay fixed, or a part that does not respond with power at the plug.
Should I grease the connector?
A little dielectric grease keeps water out of the plug on machines that work outside. Make sure the terminals are clean and tight first.
How do I test the old part first?
Read the fault codes, then check the plug and wiring for corrosion or a broken wire. A wiring fault reads the same as a failed sensor.
Is this a genuine Cummins 4928593?
No. It is an aftermarket sensor made to replace the Cummins 4928593. It is not made by the original manufacturer; the number only shows what it replaces.
