Frequently asked questions

Will it replace my Denso 095000-5990?

Yes, it is a direct replacement for the Denso 095000-5990 with the same fitting.

How often should I replace the Denso 095000-5990?

Often 5,000 to 10,000 hours, but much less on poor or wet fuel. Injectors are usually changed when they fail a test, not by hours.

What are the signs the fuel injector needs replacing?

Black or white smoke, a misfire or knock on one cylinder, hard starting, higher fuel use, or a high return leak or balance rate on test.

Does it need coding to the engine?

Most common rail injectors carry a trim code (QR or IMA) printed on the body. Enter it with a diagnostic tool after fitting, or the engine runs rough and smokes.

How do I find the bad one?

Run a return leak test or read the injector balance rates with a diagnostic tool. On older mechanical engines, cracking each pipe in turn at idle shows which cylinder changes least.

Is this a genuine Denso 095000-5990?

No. It is an aftermarket fuel injector made to replace the Denso 095000-5990. It is not made by the original manufacturer; the number only shows what it replaces.
