SPM-HEP-5261 is the 12 V fuel stop solenoid: the plated steel can with a single mounting foot, the grey rubber boot over the plunger, a threaded stud on the boot end and three flying leads (red, white and black). It is used on engines that take Woodward 1757ES-12E2ULB1S1. This aftermarket version has the same mounting and electrical connector as the original, so it plugs in and bolts on where the old one came off.
It replaces Woodward 1757ES-12E2ULB1S1 and Woodward 1700-3513.
Sold as one unit. Check the number on your old part, or in the parts manual for your machine, before ordering.

Applications & use cases
Engine will not start or will not stop
A failed fuel shutoff solenoid holds the fuel off (no start) or will not cut it (no stop). Check power at the plug first.
Engine cuts out
A weak pull-in or hold coil lets the solenoid drop out under vibration and the engine stalls.
Sticking plunger
Dirt and corrosion stop the plunger moving freely. Replacing the solenoid is quicker than freeing an old one.
Fleet spares
A spare solenoid on the van turns a no-start into a quick fix on site.

Frequently asked questions
Will it replace my Woodward 1757ES-12E2ULB1S1?
Yes, it is a direct replacement for the Woodward 1757ES-12E2ULB1S1 with the same fitting.
How often should I replace the Woodward 1757ES-12E2ULB1S1?
There is no fixed interval. It is changed when it fails, and many fail from water in the plug or chafed wiring rather than wear.
What are the signs the solenoid needs replacing?
A fault code for this circuit, readings that jump or stay fixed, or a part that does not respond with power at the plug.
Should I grease the connector?
A little dielectric grease keeps water out of the plug on machines that work outside. Make sure the terminals are clean and tight first.
Do the fault codes need clearing?
Usually. Clear them after fitting and run the machine, so old codes are not mistaken for a new fault.
Is this a genuine Woodward 1757ES-12E2ULB1S1?
No. It is an aftermarket solenoid made to replace the Woodward 1757ES-12E2ULB1S1. It is not made by the original manufacturer; the number only shows what it replaces.
