Caterpillar 154-3197 is the key start switch with five wire harness, sealed four way plug and two keys. It is used on Caterpillar 301 to 304 mini excavators, TH telehandlers and CB compactors (3003, 3013, 3024 and 3054C engines). Machine will not start or power up
A worn key switch is a common cause of no-start faults once the batteries, fuses and starter relay check out.
Key has to be wiggled
A switch that only works when the key is held or jiggled has worn contacts and will fail completely soon.
Lost keys or damaged barrel
A new switch comes with its own keys, which is often quicker than finding a matching key or repairing the barrel.
Fitting tips
Disconnect the battery first, note the wire positions, and fit the new switch with the same harness plug.
