Applications & use cases
Engine will not rev or stays at low idle
A failed throttle position sensor sends no pedal or lever signal, so the engine controller holds idle. Check the fault codes first.
Surging or erratic engine speed
A worn sensor track gives a jumpy signal and the engine speed hunts. A new sensor gives a clean signal again.
Fitting tips
Unplug the old sensor, fit the new one in the same position on its pedal or lever, plug it in and check the full travel on the service display.
