Ingersoll Rand 22289797 is the 110 V loading solenoid valve that switches control air to the inlet valve so the compressor loads and unloads. Compressor will not load or unload
The solenoid valve switches control air to the inlet valve. A burned coil or stuck plunger leaves the compressor stuck loaded or unloaded. Check for voltage at the coil plug first.
Air leaking from the exhaust port
Constant air from the valve exhaust means a worn seat or dirt under the plunger. A new valve stops the leak and the wasted air.
Burned coil
A coil that reads open or short on a meter, or smells burned, needs replacing. Check the supply voltage matches the coil.
Fitting tips
Isolate power and vent the compressor first. Note which port is which (P, A and R are stamped on the body), use thread sealant on the fittings and check for leaks under load.
