Hankison 5005522 Aftermarket Particulate Filter Element

Hankison 5005522 is the replacement PF grade element for the Hankison F03-PF compressed air filter, which removes solid particles down to 1 micron. It is used on Hankison F03-PF compressed air filters. This aftermarket version is made to the same mounting and connections as the original, so it fits where the old one came off.

The same part is also sold as Hankison PF-03.

Applications & use cases

Oil or water carried into the air lines
A loaded element lets oil aerosol, water or dirt through to tools, valves and dryers. Change it when the differential pressure indicator shows red, or at least once a year.

Pressure drop and energy cost
A blocked element raises the pressure drop across the filter, so the compressor works harder to deliver the same pressure at the point of use.

Filter trains
Particulate and coalescing elements are normally fitted in series, coarse grade first. Changing the whole train at the same service keeps the fine element from loading up early.

Fitting tips
Isolate and vent the housing, remove the bowl, fit the new element and new O ring, and check the drain works before putting the line back under pressure.
