Applications & use cases
Oil mist reaching the tools
A grade H element takes out the fine oil aerosol a general purpose element lets through. When it saturates, oil carries over to the point of use and into any carbon stage after it. Replace it and check the drain.
High pressure drop across the filter
As the element loads, the pressure drop rises and the compressor works harder for the same pressure at the tools. Change the element when the differential gauge reaches the red zone.
Scheduled replacement
High efficiency elements are normally changed every 12 months or 8,000 hours, whichever comes first, together with the general purpose element ahead of them.
Fitting tips
Isolate and vent the housing, check the auto drain is clear, fit the new element with a clean O ring, and check the bowl seals before pressurising.
