SPM-HEP-4623 is the fuel shutoff (stop) solenoid: a zinc plated body on a two hole flange, a grey rubber plunger boot and a sleeved lead with a white plug. It is used on Yanmar B27-2 mini excavators. This aftermarket valve has the same ports, mounting and coil connector as the original, so it fits where the old one came off.

It replaces Woodward 1753ES-12A3UC5B1S1, Woodward SA-3840-T and Yanmar 119807-77800.

Sold as one unit. Check the number on your old part, or in the parts manual for your machine, before ordering.

Applications & use cases

Function will not work
If a hydraulic function is dead but the pump and controls work, the solenoid valve or its coil is the usual suspect.

Drift or creep
A valve that does not seal lets cylinders creep. A new valve restores holding.

Burned coil
A coil that reads open or short on a meter needs replacing; check the connector for water first.

Fleet spares
Keep the common valves for your machines in stock to cut downtime.

Frequently asked questions

Will it fit my Yanmar B22?

Yes, it was made for the Yanmar B22, and 2 more listed under compatible equipment. Check the old solenoid valve is marked 1753ES-12A3UC5B1S1 or one of the cross references, because makers change parts between serial ranges.

How often should I replace the solenoid valve on my Yanmar B22?

On the Yanmar B22, there is no fixed interval. It is changed when it fails, and many fail from water in the plug or chafed wiring rather than wear.

What are the signs the solenoid valve needs replacing?

A fault code for this circuit, readings that jump or stay fixed, or a part that does not respond with power at the plug.

Does the voltage matter?

Yes. Many machines have 12 V and 24 V versions of the same solenoid valve. Check the old part or the machine plate before fitting.

How do I test a solenoid coil?

Measure the coil resistance with a multimeter and check for supply voltage at the plug with the circuit on. An open coil reads infinite.

Is this a genuine Woodward 1753ES-12A3UC5B1S1?

No. It is an aftermarket solenoid valve made to replace the Woodward 1753ES-12A3UC5B1S1. It is not made by the original manufacturer; the number only shows what it replaces.
