CompAir A11175274 is the thermostatic element and spring that set the oil temperature by sending oil through or around the oil cooler. It is used on CompAir rotary screw air compressors. This aftermarket version is made to the same mounting and connections as the original, so it fits where the old one came off.
Sold as one unit. Check the number on your old part, or in the parts manual for your machine, before ordering.

Compressor running hot
If the oil temperature climbs or the compressor trips on high temperature with a clean cooler and the right oil level, a thermostatic element stuck closed is a common cause: oil bypasses the cooler.
Water in the oil
An element stuck open sends all the oil through the cooler, so the compressor runs too cold, condensate forms in the oil and it turns milky. A new element holds the oil at its working temperature.
Oil service
The thermostatic element is a wear part. Many service plans change it with the oil, oil filter and separator, especially on machines that have run hot.
Fitting tips
Isolate and vent the compressor first, let it cool, then remove the valve cover. Fit the new element and spring the same way round as the old ones and use a new cover O-ring.
